How Sober Pilots works
Describe the survey once. Up to 4 local pilots quote. You pick. That's the whole product — the rest of this page is just the detail.
- Post the job
Survey type, postcode, a few details. Takes about two minutes, costs nothing.
- Checked pilots quote
Up to 4 CAA-certified, insured pilots covering your area send their price.
- Pick one or none
Compare quotes and choose. No obligation, no chasing phone calls.
What "checked" means
Every pilot on the platform has their CAA Operator ID and public liability insurance verified before they can quote. We say exactly that and nothing grander — no vague "fully accredited professionals", no inflated network numbers.
Why max 4 quotes
A request goes to at most 4 pilots who cover your area and your survey type. Enough to compare properly; not enough to spend your week fielding calls.
What it costs
You: nothing. Pilots pay a small fee to take on a lead — we'd rather tell you plainly than have you wondering what the catch is. There isn't one; that fee is the business.

Questions, answered
What does it cost me to get quotes?
Nothing. Posting a request is free and stays free. Pilots pay a small fee to take on a lead — that's the whole business model, and it's why there are no ads and no commissions added to your price.
What does “checked” actually mean?
Before a pilot can quote, we verify their CAA Operator ID and their public liability insurance. That's the claim — no more, no less. We don't invent star ratings or “500+ operators” we can't name.
Why a maximum of 4 quotes?
Because 15 phone calls isn't a service, it's a punishment. Capping it at 4 keeps quotes serious and keeps your inbox usable.
Am I obliged to hire anyone?
No. Compare the quotes and pick one — or none. Nobody chases you.
Who sees my contact details?
Only pilots who take on your request — up to 4 of them. Your details are masked until then, and nobody else gets them. Ever.
How fast do quotes arrive?
Most requests get their first quote within 24 hours. Complex jobs (big sites, restricted airspace) can take a little longer because pilots check feasibility before pricing.
